The wait is almost over, the rain has fallen and the Wellers are chomping at the bit ready to go for Season 2019, our 59th year and one that promises more thrills and spills than a dodgem car session at the Rosebud Foreshore Fair. Action a-plenty guaranteed.
Once again our Men’s and Women’s Teams will give their all for OCGAFC and our supporters, sponsors and community. We’re incredibly fortunate to see many longstanding sponsors onboard again. The Old Camberwell Grammarians’ Association and the Wellsmen Coterie Group are central to our club and we thank them for the wonderful and longstanding support they provide to our players and facilities.
Alongside these two Platinum Sponsors, we’re delighted Ray White Balwyn will continue as our Women’s Teams Gold Jumper sponsors. Jason Zou and his team will enter their third year with Old Camberwell and their support makes a massive difference to us and the player welfare programs we’re implementing this year.
Our other Gold sponsor, The Elgin Inn, are simply superb and have been with the club for many years. This relationship is central to our football club and I’d like to personally thank Jeff O’Meara and the team at the Elgin Inn for their continued support.
Our other key sponsors PGA Management, Vicpole – Streetscape Solutions, Mitchell Partners, Accru Melbourne, BluemouthDirect.Com, LifeGuard Financial Services and Peak Physiotherapy have been critical to our ongoing success either recently or in most cases, over many years. I would like to acknowledge their support and thank them on behalf of OCGAFC for their generous and vital contributions.
I would urge everyone in our community to support these great sponsors and should you need an introduction or more information please don’t hesitate to ask me, a member of the Committee or contact them directly through our website.
Speaking of the Committee, we’ve been lucky to have some new volunteers join for 2019 and to make things a little easier, see below for this year’s Committee photos. Ben Ebbage’s photo is worth looking at alone and if you would like to get involved in any way shape or form please contact one of us through our Secretary Katherine Bithavas – firstname.lastname@example.org
This Friday we’ll launch a new volunteer roster for former players, coaches and supporters. More later but we’re simply asking for people to commit to helping out for one Saturday a year at a home game. We’d love to see you at all the games but if you’d like to help out we’d welcome your support.
This year we’ll be providing more information and content through our social media platforms. If you haven’t already, please join our Facebook Group – Old Camberwell Grammarians Amateur Football Club – for the latest news, information and videos for 2019.
I’ll write again Friday with game details but both Men’s and Women’s Senior Teams are at home for the opening round while our newest team, the Men’s Under 23s are away. We’d love to get the season off to a cracker with you there to bring us home.
Come on the Wells.
